Like the cast, our directors have had no professional training: they have dedicated many hours to self-study in theatrical production and have years of experience with musical theater. Embracing our mission statement, they are committed to using their gifts to glorify God and encouraging others through musical drama.
Jordan Brazeal, Director, Playwright, Composer
Jordan has been making melodies ever since he was old enough to talk (if home videos are a reliable source). He got his start in community theater at the age of 9, appearing as the Mayor of Munchkin Land in the town production of The Wizard of Oz. At 15 he embarked on a lifelong passion of musical composition and at 18 was drafted to set some lyrics for a local musical to music. A spark was lit, dimmed only by the 8 years following of college and professional school—which would eventually become merely a means to support and pursue his endeavors in musical theater.
As a director, he has directed around 10 productions, both musical and non-musical, high school and community. He finds great joy in helping others discover new talents within themselves, and loves the theatrical environment that makes much of that possible. However, he does not consider himself to be a patient person, although he did once sit through an entire college graduation without getting up and leaving.
Of course, it was his own.
Mark Baker, Assistant Director
Mark is a homegrown, up-through-the-ranks director, having starred in many productions—including several with Arkansas Christian Theater.
Anna Sullivan, Music Director
After starting piano at age 5, Anna developed a passion and love for music that has grown throughout her life! She prides herself in having watched (and memorized every song from) nearly every musical ever written, and in her early teen years took professional classical piano and vocal lessons. She has also taught vocal and piano lessons for over 15 years.
She has an extensive background in musical theater. While her husband of 12 years was stationed in Maine, Anna was fortunate to be involved in the “Boothbay Playhouse,” a professional community musical theater. Her roles in The Secret Garden, The Sound of Music, Christmas Carol, and Carousel helped grow her love of musical theater even more! When she and her husband moved to Minnesota, she was again involved in several other theaters and was the music director for a musical production called Cheaper By the Dozen. She also acted in a show called “The 1940’s Radio Hour.”
Musical theater has taken a back seat in recent years so Anna could be a mother to her two children and focus on growing her at-home business. She is very excited to be working with ACT and to be involved once again in musical theater!
