A Little Audition—It’s Good for You

Maybe you like auditioning, maybe you don’t. Most folks don’t. But then, most folks haven’t. Or at least, they think they haven’t.

Auditioning is really just an interview. Instead of senseless scenario questions (“Tell me about a time you had to make a deadline you weren’t sure you could meet”) that almost always have nothing to do with the job you’re interviewing for (I can assure you I won’t be fiddling around with deadlines as a cashier, unless everyone in my line suddenly drops dead), auditions actually size you up for the specific “job” in question—the role you’re auditioning for!

Little-known fact: auditions are really interviews before they’ve hit puberty and become totally un-fun.

Okay, so maybe that was made up. But the point is auditions are—can be—a lot of fun! And studies show that they’re good for you! (Yeah, that’s made up, too.)

Wanna know what’s not made up? We’re having auditions for Homecoming on Saturday (July 7, 2018) from 2 – 6 PM at Heritage Bible Church, 14 Beaverfork Rd, Conway, AR 72032. Bring yourself. Bring some music to sing to (if you want a good part). Bring a friend for moral support. And after they get done supporting you, make them audition.

Hopefully, after all’s said and done, you’ll be a lovely “audition” to the team! 🙂
